Aadhaar-PAN Linking Date Extended to 31 December

Followed by the recent judgment from Supreme Court of India saying that Right to Privacy would now be a Fundamental Right, the pace of making Aadhaar card linking with every desired service in India has been slowed down. In the same series little time before the linking of Aadhaar card with PAN card was made mandatory by the government and the last date of linking was 30 August, now the date has been extended to 31 December. So, all those who have not linked their Aadhaar card with PAN card can now sit back and relax because they have adequate time to complete and to fulfill the requirement. The extension of linking date would be a great relief for those who have mistakes in their Aadhaar card. They now have time to rectify the error and could link the duo cards easily now.

  1. For linking both the card one needs to visit the website of NSDL.
  2. Once visiting the place go to the section that reads Online Application for Changes Or Correction in PAN Data (PAN Change Request Form)”.
  3. You will be directed to another page. Which will give you details regarding online application, payments etc. Scroll down on the page and select the suitable category of applicant. Then click on the “Select” option. The category shows various options such as individuals, partnership firm, the body of individuals, HUF, trust etc.
  4. You will see a form with heading “Request for New PAN Card or/And Changes Or Correction in PAN Data”. Fill in the details in the form along with necessary changes. Make sure that you don’t commit any mistake.
  5. Once all the necessary details are filled and you check the form thoroughly, you can hit the submit button.
  6. You get an acknowledgement slip. Next, select the payment option, either online or offline mode, to pay the amount of Rs 110 (for an address in India) and Rs 1,020 (for other addresses).

With these seven important steps, you can link your Aadhaar card with PAN card and hence can make any financial transaction in India freely.
